Timber Lodge · Orcas Island
Orcas Island · San Juans

Getting here

Two ways onto the island — the ferry from Anacortes, or a floatplane straight from Seattle. Either way, the trip is part of the trip.

Arriving at Orcas — by ferry, and by floatplane

By ferry

Washington State Ferries sail from Anacortes to Orcas Island (about a 1-hour crossing). In summer and on weekends, vehicle reservations are strongly recommended — book ahead at wsdot.wa.gov/ferries. Foot passengers don't need a reservation. From the Orcas ferry landing it's a scenic drive to the lodge on the west side of the island.

By air

Kenmore Air flies floatplanes daily from Seattle (Lake Union & Boeing Field) directly to Orcas. You can also fly into Orcas Island Airport (ORS) via San Juan Airlines. Both are a short drive from the lodge.

Driving from the mainland

From Seattle, it's about 1.5 hours north on I-5 to the Anacortes ferry terminal, then the ferry across. Fill up on gas and groceries before you sail — options on the island are limited and pricier.
